Here's the other two projects from the Stampin' Success feature, again, shared with permission from the company. Keep in mind that they look much better in the magazine, with professional lighting and staging! In the article, they had these home decor boxes on two shelves, with the scrapbook page in a frame next to them, and it looks so cute. I wasn't expecting that, but it works great–and I'm interested to know where they got the 8.5 square frame!
These are made with the Bitty Boxes from the Big Shot XL die of the same name. They make quick and cheap "cubes" to put your seasonal decor words on. You do have to weight them down with something like coins or washers, because of course, they are very lightweight and would blow over in a draft! But the Simple Alphabet for the Big Shot fits perfectly on them, even the tallest and widest letters, so they are great for this use.
Here's the scrapbook page/home decor framed piece, which I apparently photographed before I realized they were probably gonna want a photo in it. So in the magazine, my two adorable babies are looking out at me from this page. They are quite delighted to be "famous," as you can imagine! And the sentiment is completely appropriate, because when I see their sweet faces, my heart overflows with thanksgiving.
As I mentioned in the other post, the colors I used were Cajun Craze, More Mustard and Soft Suede, and the stamp set I was given to showcase was Day of Gratitude. On these two projects, I also used Hemp Twine, Vintage Trinkets, and Antique Brads. We didn't have the new Decorative Label XL punch yet, or I would have used that behind the saying on this page instead of two layered Curly Label punches.
Oh, and the various stamped elements on this card are exactly the same pieces used on the Online Extras card (click here to see the post with the other projects). So you can save time by cutting everything to the same measurements.
This card doesn't have anything to do with the magazine article–it's just an extra goodie for my blog readers! I made this swap card for our demonstrator meeting this week, using More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Old Olive markers, the Color Spritzer Tool, and the Antique brads. I really like this stamp set!
Thank you for rejoicing with me in my little fifteen minutes of fame this month. Just another dream come true with Stampin' Up. Who would ever have thought? And what in the world do you suppose I can dream of next?!
Apparently I don’t check details well … I just assumed that you had used the Decor Elements blocks … which made that project a bit pricey.
But with the Bitty Boxes … it looks good.
Now to buy that die!
Great Article! Congratulations! I really enjoyed your samples.
Love all your projects! Thanks so much for taking the time to share them with the world.
When you were talking about weighing down the box, my first thought was beans – a really cheap version I’ve used with my students on various projects.
Just looking at the hardcopy of the SS! Looks wonderful, Congratulations! Good for you!
