Farewell to thee, Hawaii… and welcome home, weary travelers!

If we look happy in this photo, it's because it's blurry and you can't see the tears! We did not want to leave Hawaii. It was so fabulous. We are so thankful to Stampin' Up and my customer friends for making this possible (and my parents for watching the kids!).

We enjoyed a short flight from Kona to Honolulu, and being able to see lovely Oahu and the stunning Waikiki Beach from the air at least. Then there was a two hour delay in the plane we were supposed to take back to Dallas, which thankfully our amazing travel agency already knew about and had rescheduled our connecting flight from Dallas to Madison. So what could have been a nightmare was already taken care of before we even knew anything about it! And we could eat and shop in the Honolulu terminal without worries. We even got a little sleep on the seven hour flight to Dallas. (ugh) I look pretty rough in the welcome home photo… and I was freezing–it snowed the night we got back!

Why did I take a picture of the bathroom sign, you ask? Well, aside from the cute little Hawaiian clothes they dress their restroom signs in at the airport, you can see this is a family bathroom–ohana–a word my kids know well from one of their favorite movies–Lilo and Stitch.

And our little sweeties welcomed us home with leis and a Hawaiian dinner, wasn't that clever of Grandma? We were all happy to be together again, although as soon as they hugged us and got their presents, they went right back to playing with grandma and grandpa again and didn't climb off their laps until THEIR plane left the next day!
