Embossing folder desktop photo frame

My poor Square Lattice Folder met with an untimely end Saturday at my 10-10-10 event. I won't go into details, but it wasn't pretty! The whole end of it was ruined.

However, in my efforts to rescue at least some of it, I came up with a rather fun little project that actually might be a stamp camp somewhere down the road!

Enter the desktop photo frame above… recognize it? Yep! It's my Square Lattice embossing folder, trimmed down to about half. I used my Craft & Rubber Scissors and they went through it easily. I also used the Crop A Dile (nothing like power tools!) to set some Hodgepodge Hardware on it. Everything else was attached by Mini Glue Dots.

And it's very sturdy and lightweight. I imagine this will last a really long time, far longer than a frame made from cardstock, of course. So there you go. How's that for making lemonade out of lemons?

  1. How very clever. Sorry to hear that your EB folder was ruined, but love what you did with it. Now that’s the kind of lemonade that I like. LOL!

  2. Who else but you can come up with an idea to make the best of a bad situation?! Now that EF is going to go on the backorder list as people start using it for decoration!!!
You are single-handedly trying to keep SU in biz! 😉 Just joking! SU is fine! No controversy here folks!

  3. Lyssa,
Where do you find the time to come up with a cool project just after a big event? My things would still be packed up sitting inside my stamp room door. You are my idol!

  4. LOL Kristen… mine would probably have been sitting there, too, except that my DL’s Starter Kit did not arrive in time for her first open house on Sunday afternoon because of the holiday, so I needed to unpack it and loan her everything from grid paper and SNAIL to stamps and ink! : )

  5. oh my, Lyssa! Sorry about your Lattice folder but what a cute idea to “recycle” it! My lattic die also got some rough treatment last week (somehow was cranked thru the Big Shot with all of the tabs instead of flipping up Tab 1) and it wasn’t pretty. Still functional, for now but I will keep your idea in mind. I already ordered another to replace it….but I’ll probably hang onto it as an example of how NOT to use an embossing folder.
