Wow! I finally had a little time last night to sit down and play with the brand new revamped Color Coach and BUY was I ever impressed! Look at this fun combination of Elegant Eggplant, Baja Breeze, River Rock and Rose Red. I never ever would have come up with that one on my own, but I love it! It's perfect for this card.
What's that you say? What's that stamp set with the cute "happy birthday" that fits so adorably in the Wide Oval punch? Well, let me enlighten you! It's a new favorite of mine, called Perfect Punches, and it's coming in the new catalog July 1st. Below are two more samples made with it, both with color combos from the Color Coach.
Aren't those great combos? I am SOOOO enamored of the Color Coach that I am going to offer one FREE to all my July and August hostesses–stay tuned July 1st for details on that!
Some of you are scratching your heads trying to figure out what punch I used to make the flowers. Search no longer–it's the Stampin' Up Blossom Party exclusive die for the Big Shot! It's my favorite flower die for that nifty machine and I use it all the time.
Anyway, back to the punch set. Isn't it cool? Love the "Congratulations" stamp that fits in the Modern Label punch… and I'm gonna get a LOT of good out of the "friend" one that fits in the Curly Label punch! There's several more stamps in this set and you'll be seeing them in the next couple of posts.
Ahh…. so happy Baja Breeze is returning. Those of you who know me IRL (in real life) know I'm all about turquoise in any shade. Half the shirts I own are some version of aqua. I'm going to treat myself to a blog makeover/update if I earn the Alaska trip and I've decided it will have to reflect my love of that color!
Hey, if you have (kind) suggestions for improvements or additions to the blog (other than videos–don't even ask) I would welcome them. Leave a comment on this post by June 28, 2010, at noon, and just to make it fun, I will throw in some blog candy to encourage feedback! After a random drawing on the 28th I will send one lucky winner any single stamp of her choice from the
Summer Mini. Check out page 31 of that catalog, and leave your comment
pronto, along with your choice of stamp should you be the winner!
Lyssa, I love your blog! It is classy, “shabby chic”, clean, and easy to navigate. It loads pretty quick, even with my slow internet connection. I like the your posts are mostly about projects, not too many promotions. I do know you irl and I can say, “Yeah you are all about the turquoise!” Will love to see the AQUA makeover of your site! One suggestion, I would like to see the “search” up higher on your sidebar…I sometimes forget it is there with the old posts. Since I view you everyday, I don’t scroll down too far on your page. Not looking for Blog Candy, please give to someone else if I would happen to win. Thanks! A SoMHS fan!!!
I love the new color combinations you used on the Happy Birthday card. I have never been very good at putting different colors together and the color coach sounds like it will be a great tool. Love your blog. Try to check in every day.
Hope you earn the alaska trip! How exciting!! Thanks for sharing all your fun ideas with us!
Ok, Lori, that’s an easy fix! I’ll move the search up. Good suggestion.
If would love it if you had a category for “creative card folds”, even if it was pictures with no directions. I love the unexpected!
I like the fact that your blog is so readable. There is a lot of information but it is not too busy. We change our wardrobe with the seasons; why not change the color scheme. I am looking forward to seeing it. If I am lucky enough to win your blog candy, I would like Happy Grad.
Lyssa, I love your blog!
It seems like many more blogs these days are getting the links along the top so visitors can easily find info vs. searching through the sidebars. I think that has a very professional & clutter-free look, so that would be my main suggestion. I’m excited about your idea of changing up the colors, too 🙂
Lyssa – Your blog is great! I do like the idea of updating the colors a bit more often. I wish there were more categories to pick from on the side bar (various holidays, product types, etc.).
Thanks!
Cheri
These are great suggestions! Don’t forget to leave your single stamp choice in case you win!
Kristi, I’d already decided I would like a menu across the top this time–good idea.
Hi! I just discovered your blog. It looks great-easy to navigate, lovely samples, good catagories, filled with information, yet simple. My suggestion would be to go a bit bolder in your color scheme. Baja Breeze, since you love it, would be a great place to start!
Summer Catalog-My favorite single stamp: All a Flutter; My favorite set: Elements of Style. I know you said, “single”, but I couldn’t resist!
Agree with categories along the top to eliminate all the busy-ness along the sides. This layout seems to take longer to load at least on my computer. My first choice of a single stamp would be the Birthday Block. Thanks and good luck with revamping your blog!
Looking forward to seeing the new, updated blog in turquoise! Congrats on the Alaskan trip. I too, agree w/ putting your catagories along the top. I check your blog often for inspiration. I would chose the Birthday Block stamp.
Lyssa,
Just discovered your blog last week- I have some catching up to do!!! Loooove, love, love your creativity, your ideas, and your cheerful nature that comes across in your posts. Keep it up!
My favorite, of many, from the summer mini is the Sweet Scoops… drool… 🙂
forgot to add: favorite from the single stamps- All a flutter
Absolutely love your blog…visit it often!
