I have a few fun cards to show you. Yesterday I realized I couldn't stamp a thing or even sit down in my stamp room because there were so many little piles of half-finished projects. So I set about finishing a few of them! It felt good to actually get some of them done and also to try out the cool new technique done above with the Slit punch. I will be teaching this technique at my next Incredible Cards Club on September 21st! Here's another sample with it–can we say out of my normal style by a long shot–
This is such a cool technique, you're going to FREAK when you see it! I may have to revise one of my 10-10-10 cards so more of you have a chance to learn it! Anyway, for this card I had this cute "hi" left over from my Sunshine Garden Simply Scrappin' Kit (because they give you WAY more stuff in there than you can use in any single album–extremely generous kit) and I just decided to throw it on a quick card. The color's a bit wonky, but I love the Pink Passion paired with the new Soft Suede cardstock and polka dotted ribbon. I almost love that ribbon more than I love my kids. JUST KIDDING!!
Here's another unfinished card–I know, I know, I never finish ANYTHING– but this one was so close to being done it was really very silly. When I bleach stamp (click here for some quick pointers on this fun technique) I usually make a whole bunch of card bases up at once since I have the mess out anyway. So this background has been laying around since the last time I stamped with bleach! I finally finished it off with a half Top Note, Simple Flower Embosslit, and some Little Leaves sizzlet. And Crystal Effects, my friend…. They will have to pry Crystal Effects from my cold dead hands…
And last but not least… well, there were more, but then I know some of you would never speak to me again if you thought I got more than four cards done in one sitting… I have had this card partially done since June (note last year's In Colors)! I got the idea for the lei made from folded and stacked Five Petal Flower punches with the old Snow Blossom punch cut for the centers from a swap during the Hawaii incentive trip, and I did it on this card, and then I never did anything else. So all I had to do to finish this one was put a sentiment on it, which I stamped with the new Contemporary Alpha and lined up with the Stamp A Ma Jig.
That's it for now…! Thanks for peeking, and I'd love to hear from you about how many half-finished projects you have on YOUR stamp table… this was only a fraction of mine, and it'd make me feel better to hear I am not alone!
It’s not even FUNNY how many unfinished projects I have on my stamp table – what is funny is that I finished off a few last night too! Great minds think alike đŸ˜‰
You are going to hate me but I do not leave a project half done and go onto something else. I just make myself finish it up. Is that strange of me?
I have a whole stack of half-done cards-Baja Blue and Urban Garden paper with the Big Shot butterflies. I like having them half-done because when I need a card, I just quickly finish it and personalize it. Half-done is not bad, it’s potential!
