Had to share this fun mystery stamping challenge we did last month with my Stampin’ Up demonstrator team! We have such a ball playing online together every 4th Monday of the month.
Our challenge this month (I was the hostess, but it varies by volunteers) was to snap a picture of something made of fabric in your house, and recreate the pattern as closely as you can with stamps and paper. I have always thought this rug in my shop would make a fabulous card, so this was my chance to finally DO it! (But don’t look too close; I just realized my rug needs to be shampooed!)
So here on the left is what I managed to make by the end of the hour! The one on the right I did the next day before putting all the supplies away. It was so fun. I started with Lost Lagoon cardstock, stamped it with Pretty Peacock and Pool Party solid-image flowers (Fresh as a Daisy), then used white embossing powder and the heat tool to add outlined flowers on top. Lastly, I colored some of the white embossed flowers with my Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends marker so I had a nice bright yellow on top of that blue.

Not super hard, just a bunch of steps. I hadn’t heat embossed in ages!
What do you think, did I nail it? Leave me a comment and grade me on the challenge!
It was really amazing to see how creatively our team copied the colors, textures and patterns from their chosen items. We had everything from the couch cushions to curtains, to a favorite blouse and even the leggings someone was wearing! What a fun challenge night.
