Hi everyone! It's great to see you here! We're settling in to a month-long challenge to create 31 scrapbook pages in the 31 days of August. I am having sooo much fun doing the inspiration layout each day.
Many of the pages I'm sharing this month are from my Scrapbooking Summer School kit class, but today's page is just for fun! I knew I was saving this special paper for something really special. It looks like I did a time-consuming and messy technique–but it is ready to go!
Since this is a child-themed page, I didn't sweat the coloring or hand-cutting. It looks messy and creative, perfect for the concept. Maybe I should do kid pages more often!
PRO TIP: I often use this torn-strip mat technique to use up scraps–great for any size photo, and you can shake it up by tearing both ends, or the sides, too, if you prefer. For this 4×6 photo mat, I tore 1 x 11 inch strips of three colors. Lay down two strips of Tear & Tape the length of where you want your mat, and layer the pieces randomly from left to right. Fun!
Oops! I meant to go back and use my Daffodil Delight Blends marker to color inside the scissor handles. It's the little things, you know?

If you like the look of color crystal sprinkles and don't mind messy techniques, here's a card I made last year using them. It really is unique! and it especially looks good with white embossing. I usually make a whole bunch of backgrounds at once and then use them over the course of a few months rather than make a mess every time.
My page count for the month is eight so far! I need to make a drama camp page and a cinematography camp page for this summer. Plus, our crazy family reunion which I haven't even talked about here because we left for Italy the next day! Those will be fun pages to make. What are you scrapping this month?
