31 Pages in 31 Days

Quick post from me today as it's the first day of school for my two, and I've got more than can humanly be accomplished planned for my first full day of freedom since last May!! But I'll start the list with a quick chat with my scrappy friends. Wish we could have coffee and stamp together! Wouldn't that be cool? I know we'd be fast friends. Papercrafters are some of the nicest people I know!

The slightly off-the-wall color scheme for this page (Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, Always Artichoke, Summer Starfruit and Blushing Bride) is because I was using MORE of that cute Simply Created Springtime Hello garland kit! Yup, that's right, the one I used on this polka-dot page, and this clothesline one, and this star themed one, too. It really is an amazing kit, and it's on the Online Clearance Rack for just $3.49 right now, just waiting to be added to your next order. All the circles you see are self-adhesive die cuts from that kit.

The colors did NOT work for me for the page I had envisioned UNTIL I added the 2013-15 In Color Sequins to the border of circles. They really brought it to life.

TIP: I am often asked how I attach our new sequins to a project. I normally use Mini Glue Dots, which are quick and permanent, but when I have a lot to adhere and that is not financially feasible, I use a dot of Crystal Effects to attach them. It does require a short drying time (no more than ordinary glue) but it dries crystal-clear, so little drips and spills don't show at all.

It still needed something after I added the pennants and the Make A Wish headline to the top of the full-page photo mat (a favorite and economical way to quickly mat a lot of photos at once). A little more sparkle never hurts, so I added a clip from the Project Life by Stampin' Up Everyday Adventure Accessory Kit along with some of the Silver Baker's Twine with the silver strand separated out. That brought it right around. I love it when you find just the right accent for a page, don't you?

Ok! I'm off to accomplish that to-do list. Wish me luck!

  1. I enjoy my crafting friends too. I live in a fairly remote part of the state and there aren’t a lot of us, so getting together with other paper crafters is an infrequent event. That is one of the reasons I love your blog. I am so happy someone else loves “traditional” scrapbooking. Your pages are so easy to make and don’t require a lot of fussy embellishments that we might not have access to. Thanks so much for sharing these 31 pages. I have enjoyed every one!
