31 Pages in 31 Days

Had to wait for the sun to come out to get my photos taken today! We've been having some much-needed rain here in Wisconsin, both for the crops' sake and to break up the humidity that settled in here like a blanket a couple of days ago. We've had a gorgeous, cool summer this year, so I can't complain, but I won't be too sorry to see the end of this particular weather system.

I will, however, be sorry to see the end of 31 Pages in 31 Days! Once again I have thoroughly enjoyed this annual blog series here at Song of My Heart, and I have loved getting so much scrapbooking done. Give yourself a pat on the back if you managed to squeeze in some time to memory-keep this summer, too! Here's today's inspiration page for your enjoyment:

As soon as I saw this Chevron Fold I wanted to try it on a scrapbook page. I used the scraps left from this Blackberry Bliss spread from Day Six to cut my 1×2.5 inch strips, and found I needed 11 total strips to make it from top to bottom of a 12×12 page. It was easy and fast and made a super-cute scrapbook border with lots of natural dimension.

I left the page pretty simple since the patterns are busy, but added a little texture with Basic Pearls and some paper piercing to kind of play up the quilt look. Here's a supply list so you can see everything I used on this page. Thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow for Day 26!!

  1. Since I’m caught up on our kids’ scrapbooks, I am starting to work on my nephew’s scrapbook from a trip to my parents. I have gone back and used quite a few of the layouts from this challenge to make each page – it’s been so fun! I have done 6-8.5×11 pages and am working on page 7. This chevron fold is the most awesome thing, ever, SO, I am going to find a layout in this scrapbook to copy this. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have had this challenge….our scrapbooks, as well as this book for my nephew have been on my to-do list for so long, so I’m glad I took this challenge and am going to finish both these things before the end of the month! Plus, I’ve pinned quite a few pages to use for later!
