I'm so excited it's finally August!! Welcome to the very first day of 31 Pages in 31 Days, 2016 Edition! I'm delighted you're joining us for a month of scrapbooking inspiration. Every day I'll post a page or spread to get your mojo going–and at the end of the month, if you're playing along, you'll have thirty-one finished pages for your scrapbook. I encourage you to jump right in with both feet and commit to doing this together with me. The results will make you feel like a scrappin' Superwoman!

Ok, here's my first page! It's a single layout to finish off a book about my darling daughter.
Suggested Color Combination:
TODAY'S TIP: Stampin' Up's color coordination made this page super easy–my ruched ribbon matched my Flirty Flamingo cardstock, my Bermuda Bay ink for the resist technique matched my solid-color cardstock, etc. Love it! It saves me SO MUCH TIME not having to hunt for colors and then settle for "good enough." The finished results look a lot more professional, too.
Remember my "5 Tricks Designers Know about Using Black" article? I used black butterflies for a design element on this page, and I think it helps "cement" the bright colors I used so the page is not too sugary sweet. You'll have to tell me what YOU think.
Ok, that's it! Each day in August I'll see you right back here each day to check in with your page count. For today, just leave a comment and let me know you're going to play along! Then every Monday for the five Mondays in August, we'll have a drawing from all the comments left that week (on the 31 Pages in 31 Days posts only)!
See you tomorrow for Day Two of 31 Pages in 31 Days.
Love this! I’m going to CASE it for my retreat this weekend.
Oh my, that is just gorgeous! I love everything about it and it is perfect for a young lady – colours, bling, sophisticated butterflies, perfect sentiment – you nailed it! And I think you have just inspired me to play along – it has been a few years since I have scrapped and I desperately need to get back.
I hope to follow along!
I am following these posts. I look forward to these posts every year and hope to get a chance to do some scrapping in August too 🙂. Thanks for some inspiration!
Just saw your post about this. Love the idea and I’ll be playing along. I’m going to CAS this page for my next class, if it’s alright with you. 😊
Butterflies! Love them on this beautiful card. The colors speak to me!
What a beautiful color combination – I love it! I agree about the black butterflies, they are the perfect accent to really make the colors pop. Very excited to follow along in this series again this year!
I was ready to start from home doing this with you but I hurt my knee and needed total knee replacement. (July 26th)
Rolling desk chairs and I don’t mix literally!
I have no tolerance for sitting long periods yet but I can sketch your layout, pick colors and pictures and when I am up more.. bam just cut and assembly!
I look forward to 31 Pages every August! What a pretty start to this year’s challenge. I want to adapt it for my pictures of the butterfly garden at the Milwaukee Public Museum. Thanks again Lyssa!
