I like red and green for Christmas, but I also really like non-traditional color schemes for the holiday, too. Purple (traditionally the color of royalty) has long been used for elegant Christmas decorations and cards, but lavender is a little more unusual! I used Wisteria Wonder for the base of this Snowflake Soiree card that we will be making this month at the last session of Christmas Club 2012.
TIP: Iridescent Ice embossing powder catches the light and makes my embossing match my cardstock color, but I didn't want too much tone-on-tone for this card because it made the Whisper White ribbon and snowflake stand out too much. So I mixed half II EP with half Sterling Silver FP, and got a gorgeous iridescent silver tone. Save a couple empty embossing powder containers to use for mixing colors–or mixing a little scented powder in with a color!
Need to order some Iridescent Ice, a Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy anti-static pouch, or other accessory? Everything on my blog is available to purchase online at www.lyssa.stampinup.net or by email: zwolaneks@att.net And while you're there, be sure to check out the updated Clearance Rack for some really great deals and steeply discounted discontinued merchandise.
Deliciously gorgeous…as all your Christmas cards have been! You make me wish I had the time to make Christmas cards. Unfortunately, from now till the end of December is crazy-busy and stressful. *sigh*
I think I have to do some stamping anyway this weekend, just to unwind. Thanks for all the inspiration, lovely friend!
Love the Wisteria! Very soothing and elegant!
