I'm out of town this weekend at the Craftin' Cabin on Lake Koshkonong with seven of my buddies, but I'm scheduling posts in advance so you will not be bereft of inspiration while I am gone!
I really like how this card turned out. You know me and monochromatic cards… I am just really drawn by that look. This one is made from a Sahara Sand base, with DSP and focal points printed out from My Digital Studio. The whole thing is weathered and antiqued with ink and a brayer.
The scalloped "oval" behind the DSP is actually just a Scallop Circle die-cut that I cut in half and layered in more of an oval shape. Kind of a neat trick to make a single shape do double duty.
Here's another version, very similar, that I just made 36 of for a swap…. and then forgot to mail them by the deadline. I was just crushed, not to mention horrifically embarrassed. I was really looking forward to seeing 35 other people's take on the new Elements of Style stamp set that we got free at Leadership Conference in January. It will be in the new Summer Mini Catalog, which I have to say I HAVE SEEN AND IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY! This new mini will be the standard by which all other minis will stand or fall! I can't share anything else until the demonstrator pre-order opens on April first, but let me just say that you are going to want to start saving your pennies and clipping coupons NOW!!! I FLIPPED OUT!! YOU WILL TOO!
So anyway, I will save these for a future swap, but the idea is similar, only executed in Mellow Moss and Basic Black this time instead of Sahara Sand. I love printing out images from stamp sets that I don't even own, with My Digital Studio. Easy and fun! and you can manipulate the size, color, etc, like you can't with a real live stamp. Neato Schmeto.
Love the card! Use it for my meeting swap. Then you are set!
