Vintage Vogue in More Mustard–can she DO that?!

I finally had some time to play around with my new clear mount stamps and thought I would show you the results! This is the gorgeous "So Shelli" Collection stamp set called Vintage Vogue. I threw it on my preorder totally by impulse (and because the clear sets are dirt cheap!), and I am so glad I did, because I LOVE IT!!

I don't know why this set "called" to me in More Mustard–not a color I reach for very often–but it did, and I liked the results. It was easy to see where I was positioning the stamp every time, and I found the stamps themselves to be exactly the same quality I have always counted on from Stampin' Up. YAY SU!!!

The card on the right here is a one-layer card I am doing for my friend Jan's organized swap at our upcoming Leadership Convention (PHOENIX IN JANUARY, BAY-BEE!!). It is a "no-layers" card swap with very stringent (and fun) guidelines–it can't have ANY layers other than the one the card is mad of, and it can only have ONE embellishment. WOW is that hard! But I liked the way this one turned out–and I hope she will, too. (Don't worry, Jan–I'll make sure the ones I do for you aren't crooked like this one. )

On the left is a messed up version of the one layer card, that I turned into a regular card by mounting it on a base of More Mustard stamped with the Woodgrain background. Oh, oh! The ribbon! You are probably wondering where I got More Mustard Organza ribbon! Well, I got it from my sponge case… yep, just sponge the ribbon with the color you desire, and there you have it.

And everyone always asks me how I got those cool little clear dots on my projects. Well, honestly, I'm not going my JOB right if you haven't heard about the amazing Crystal Effects! That's my second favorite super-secret embellishment, right behind Shimmer Spray.

And at only $6.25 per bottle, I'll just go ahead and order you two, because your stamping buddy will steal yours after she plays with it, and you'll need another one. And I'll be sunning myself in Phoenix, so you'll be up a creek without a paddle until I get back. Maybe better make it three bottles!
