I couldn't wait ANY longer to share this card with you! I made this last week in response to my hostess friend Nancy wanting to make a classic wedding card using the Big Shot. We're also going to make this at my friend Terri's workshop on Friday, because she adores owls and we have this running joke that I always bring bird cards to her events. I might have to bring the Lilypad & Pop-up Frog to this one, though…
So I actually killed THREE birds with one card, because I totally loved it, too, and I think I might adapt it to be my Christmas card for the year!! I thought it looked so amazing for the small amount of effort you put into it. You cut one and a half lattices for each card, and cover the join with the seam binding ribbon. I used the single stamp Blissful Bird (page 72, main catalog) which is incredibly awesomely configured to stamp and then punch out perfectly, by the way.
But what really makes this card "pin-worthy" is the tiny twist of Crumb Cake tulle, and the bitty glittered heart punch! The Vintage-Nouveau style has always been a favorite of mine. I knew I wanted a bit of bling, but I was going for old fashioned glam, not too much sparkle. So Silver Glimmer Paper was right out. The new Champagne Glimmer Paper (Holiday Catalog, page 18) was closer to what I wanted, but still too bright. So I took some Frost White Shimmer Paint and a sponge dauber, and toned it down a notch. It's still champagne–in fact more champagne colored than our actual Champagne Glimmer Paper, as that is more gold to me–but muted and definitely more vintage. Love it!
You, too, could learn to stamp like this…. call me! : ) I looooooooooove teaching papercrafts. I'm really good at my job, and I'll have you and your friends cranking out professional-looking cards, scrapbook pages, gifts and home decor items in no time. I know it looks hard, but stamps make everything easy! They're the secret weapon of crafting!
Wa-hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am definitely looking forward to this one!
GORGEOUS! Love the subtle colors with sprinkling of pretty touches and surprises!
