Vintage Dress Form Card

You all already know how enamoured I am with the All Dressed Up stamp set and matching Framelits for the Big Shot because I've shared several posts with all the cute little dresses that I'm addicted to. But I wanted to show you a way to use just the dress form Framelit by itself as well! I love how this card turned out–lots of techniques, layers, and details. Sometimes I like to putz!

I started with a base of Sahara Sand cardstock, layered with Soft Suede that I had used the new distressing tool on. Then I added a torn piece of First Edition newsprint-patterned Designer Series Paper, sponged to antique it a little. Above that is a piece of pre-embossed Natural Composition specialty Designer Series Paper that I heavily sponged with Night of Navy ink.

Layered on top of those is a Paper Tea Doily I brayered with Sahara Sand ink so that it was no longer white. Then I used the Natural Trim ribbon to tie around it all, sponged with a little Soft Suede ink to weather it. The dress form was die cut on the Big Shot in Sahara Sand cardstock and accented with Flowering Flourishes stamps and the silver Stampin' Dazzle marker. I embellished it with a Flower Trim flower and Basic Pearls. The necklace is a piece of cream quilter's thread with the pearls spaced along it for a different look than a sold strand of pearls. I finished the whole thing off with a sentiment from Tea Shoppe punched out with the Curly Label punch and distressed with the Woodgrain background stamp and sponging.

Whew! I enjoyed all that but it does take time. I really have to be in the mood to make a card this detailed. Do you like to putz sometimes?

Thanks for sharing all the glorious details 🙂 I too love what you did with the Natural Compositions – have most of a pack still in my drawer & just don’t know what to do with it – thanks for the inspiration!

  2. This is a fabulous card! I especially like the pearl necklace on the dress form and how the pearls are different sizes. What a great detail that is!
