Tuesday night and another room gift!

Tuesday was SO busy! We got up at 5:30 (no chore because jet-lag woke us at 4:30) and left on the first bus at 6:30 a.m. We spent the whole day on the awesome circle-island bus tour and got in just after 4:30. We had time for a quick little nap and then as we were dressing for our dinner with Vice President Pam Morgan and her husband Chris, there was a knock on our door…

…And a smiling Hawaiian porter handed us our second room gift. Wrapped in ti leaves and crowned with hibiscous, this neat little traditional package held an assortment of yummy island goodies! How fun!

We had a wonderful time at the dinner even though I was feeling very weird and a little nauseated (combination of jet lag and overheating, I think) and I actually had them box up my wonderful $50 seafood dinner so I could take it back to the mini fridge. I did enjoy the curried crab soup appetizer and the fresh pineapple sorbet for dessert, and I was still able to participate intelligently in the conversation, so it was ok! Mike and I really enjoyed meeting Pam and Chris, and fellow demo Margo Kelly and her Chris, too. I am sorry the picture of us waiting for the riverboat in our nice clothes did not turn out, though.
