I have been sitting on a BIG secret for a little while now, and I'm SO RELIEVED that our new alcohol-based Blendabilities markers are at last available for my fellow demonstrators to pre-order, because it means I can finally share some of what I have been creating with you!! If you were wondering why I didn't have as many projects posted as usual the past couple of weeks–well, this is why! (Incidentally, that "unnatural calm" (lol) will descend once more on SOMHS periodically in the next 8 weeks, as I just found out this morning I have been selected as a Display Stamper for our national convention. SQUEEE!!!)
So anyway, this is an 8×8 scrapbook layout where it really is all about the flowers. I used the Secret Garden stamp set, which unfortunately sold right out when it hit the retirement list on April 21st. But you could sub in any tropical flower set to make this fun and colorful page. I used the Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities sets to do my coloring, and Pear Pizzazz for the stamped leaves.
Blendabilities will be available to order VERY SOON!!! I'm so excited for you all to get your hands on these! I will keep you up to date to the very minute on developments on when you are able to get them.
Now, I will be the first to say–don't look TOO closely because my shading isn't very good yet. I had never used alcohol-based markers before and there is a learning curve. I am not used to the "bleed" and need to learn to stop coloring just short of the stamped edge of the image. I definitely need some practice time! But I do feel like I'm getting the hang of it. Stay tuned for more projects in the next couple of days, and hang tight for a summer class schedule coming out shortly. WHOO HOOOO!!!
Now I really have to scoot… last two tasks for the wedding today, groceries, buying a load of Packers items for a fellow demonstrator from France who I will meet on the cruise (fun!). Oh and I have to clean my house because my parents are coming tomorrow!! And PACK!!! If you "see" me on Facebook or Pinterest today, send me a stern warning note, ok?? Thanks, friends!!
I get my Blendabilities on Monday and can’t wait to play with them. If the color lifter is similar to the color blender that Copic has, you can use the lifter to “push” the color back into the lines. I’ll know more once I play with it and will have a full report for you, when you get back. haha! Bon Voyage!
