“To the Nines” Father’s Day circles card

Father's Day Circle card
I took advantage of the special this month to stock up on Designer Series Papers and chose as my free pack this specialty textured one, To The Nines. It has a great variety of stripes, checks, paisleys and geometric prints that just scream "masculine" to me. So it was a no-brainer to chose the tie image and saying from Holiday Blitz (one of ten set which I got for free as a Sale-A-Bration sales reward from Stampin' Up!–whoo hoo!))
This card was very easy to make–just don't overthink the circles. Punch everything out, embellish or stamp, but wait to adhere until you have played around with the placement. After I found out the tie image fit in the small rectangular name plate from the Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware, I was delighted to add that as an accent.
Remember my post about making cards masculine? This card fits the bill–tailored print, natural/neutral coloring, hardware or metal, and texture. Many stampers are a little intimidated by masculine cards, and they reach for their deer or tree stamp over and over again. Next time you need a masculine card, pull out your punches and create an interesting focal point with just paper and some cool-looking DSP.
