I sorted out my scrap bin this weekend (shocker!) and found all sorts of fun scraps. I had a couple of nice 3×12 inch strips of Petal Passion paper, and rather than cut it up so it would fit in the clamshell clear cases I use to sort my smaller bits, I set them aside to play with them as a treat when everything else was sorted.
I always set out to use this paper just as it is, plain black and white. It doesn't get more elegant than that!
But somehow I can't resist adding color, and this time I did it using the Stampin' Blends Light and Dark Pink Pirouette alcohol-based markers. Pink and black look so amazing together!
I loved the instant glam that my Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon provided. It's so gorgeous…. like someone dipped satin in Wink of Stella. The glitter caught the pink and reflected it back. Just lovely.
Did you spot the thing all three of these cards have in common, besides the color scheme? They each use the same base piece–2.75 x 5.5 inches–for the background, with different elements layered on top. I love it when you get three layouts from one idea!

What colors would you pair with black? Pale aqua? Light green? Deep crimson? Can't wait to play some more with the rest of the Petal Passion papers. They were just made for this kind of experimentation!
J’aime beaucoup. Bonne journée. Bizzzz
