Swirly Scribbles: fun, dimensional rose cards!

Swirls and scribbles Stampin Up appreciate you card

Good thing I die-cut a bajillion of these on the Big Shot, because I am having so much fun making the trendy little dimensional roses by combining the Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles Thinlets. I love the casual, flip little flowers–so perfect for summer!

Started off this craft session trying to copy the card on page 152 of the new 2016-17 Idea Book & Catalog, and you can definitely see similarities, but of course I ended up making adjustments (and boo-boos) along the way. Still, not too bad for a first run! Can't wait to have more time to play.

I love this sentiment (from the new Helping Me Grow stamp set). As I was making these cards I got to thinking about all the people who have helped me grow over the years. Boy, is that list long! If I started sending cards to all the people who have encouraged me spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally–I'd be making nothing but thank you cards from here until next Tuesday. When's the last time you sent a thank-you card to someone who helped you along the path? Maybe their assistance was something purely practical–a last-minute baby-sitting request–or something more intangible, like a well-chosen Scripture verse shared at just the right time.

Whatever the person or situation that popped into your head just now, I encourage you to act on that impulse, follow through and send them a card. There is no time like the present!

Happy Crafting, my friend!

  1. I have just discovered your blog and love your work. I live in Melbourne Australia and have been giving cards as encouragements to my Bible study (BSF) ladies. They really enjoy receiving one. In this age of technology the personal touch is being lost. Let’s bring it back! Well done for encouraging others to use their talents to benefit others!
