SU Cruise Day one: Puerto Rico and the ship

Stamp Tour 2010 036

We arrived in San Juan on Sunday, really enjoying the beautiful views from the plane as we descended. You can see the Adventure of the Seas just to the right of the center of the picture–it's the ship on the left. Representatives from Stampin' Up and Royal Caribbean met us at the baggage claim and we boarded a shuttle to the pier. Our driver was very "colorful" to put it mildly… we ended up having him both times. I left him one of our fishie logos to decorate his bus with!

We boarded without a hitch, going through right next to Shelli and her family. Our stateroom was wonderful! I was blown away by how small it was, until my mom, who is a veteran cruiser, told me she couldn't believe how BIG it was! Everything was really nice and comfy and the steward was excellent. Oh, and on the metal stateroom door was a large magnet with our fishie logo on it and "Incentive Trip Achiever." Someone stole mine on the last day, which made me very sad. I'm hoping SU has a couple leftover ones somewhere because I was really proud of that thing. I don't even have a picture of it, unfortunately.

On the bed was this cute water bottle from Stampin' Up, with a welcome fishie and candy inside. It went along with the eight bottles of water on the desk–a very nice gift for excursions we would otherwise have paid for outrageously off the ship.It was just one of many nightly gifts from Stampin' Up!Stamp Tour 2010 047

The view from our balcony of the sun setting over Puerto Rico was amazing. We rested up a little, then explored a little of the ship. At first it was extremely confusing to get around, but we soon learned which decks went all the way from "fore" to "aft" and which sides were port and starboard. Stay tuned for the nest post about the Stampin' Up welcome reception, our first dinner, and much more!
