After we got back from the horseback ride, we ate lunch in a little open-air beach cafe RIGHT next to the waves. It was gorgeous… and the food was fantastic. When we were done, we just put on our suits and walked out onto the beach. As you can see, I was particularly missing Mike that day…
The water was very clear (you could see fish just standing there by the shore) and my companions snorkeled while I poked around looking at the tidal pools and coral and even found a spiny little guy hiding out.
Then I prudently retired to the shade of some palm trees to escape sunburn, and finished off my book. I read three books cover to cover during the cruise. It felt positively decadent!
They really pulled out all the stops for the final dinner of the trip. This was a banana chocolate caramel mousse thingy that was my favorite dessert of the entire trip (and that's really sayin' somethin'). I also had Mahi-Mahi and shrimp for my main course (how could I not?)
And that's about it for my cruise coverage. On Day 8, we mostly traveled our way back home, leaving the ship about ten a.m. and flying into Milwaukee about eleven p.m. We were tired but happy! And so glad to see our loved ones. It's hard to believe it's over, this amazing trip that I worked so hard to earn and looked forward to for so long. I really like cruising, turns out! Looks like I'll just have to earn myself more of them.
