Spring has sprung

We had the Never-Ending Winter for so long, I knew that when and if Spring ever decided to make her appearance, it would be super short. On the bright side, Mike got his whole allergy season condensed into one week… on the other hand, all the glorious blooming Wisconsin spring lasted just one week! It was painfully gorgeous here recently, every bush and every tree strenuously vying to outdo each other in the volume of blossoms. The kind of beauty you can't look at too long, because it's too perfect, too intense.
And now, spring has sprung and we're headed pell-mell into summer. I refused to turn on the air conditioner yesterday even though the interior of the house climbed well past 80 because I was too enchanted with the lilac-scented breezes floating in the windows. I missed the daffodils while we were in Fiji… I missed the tulips while we were all so sick… I refuse to miss the lilacs, the best and most evocative of all my memories of yards past and yards future (for I will never live in a house without them).
A smart blogger would have taken gorgeous photos of the lilacs to post here, eh? Well, you don't got a smart blogger… you gots ME! But I do have some pretty things to show you, and they were created with the scent of lilac swirling around me, the back door wide open to the sunshine and my dirty-feet kids playing loudly on the old wooden playset under the shade of the maple whose branches have been stretching their long green fingers towards the house, and almost reached it this year.

We were gifted with the new In Colors Designer Series patterned papers while on the incentive trip this year, and when I could bring myself to cut into the pack, I made these two cards with the cute 7/8 inch scallop circle punch and the silver mini brads. These new In Colors are available for the general public to order beginning May 31st, along with the Color Refresh colors! So many amazing new shades to play with. Let me know if you need a catalog–I don't charge for mine, and I'd be happy to mail one to you. Email me at zwolaneks@att.net with your snail mail address to get on my list for the next PO run!
