Hi everybody! Sharing some more pages from the Scrapbook Marathon with you today. Thanks for stopping by! This layout uses three of my all-time favorite Stampin' Up scrapbooking products: The On Film Framelits for the Big Shot; the What's Up arrow punch; and the Project Life: Remember This stamp set. I use those three items ALL the time! So happy Stampin' Up partnered with Becky Higgins' amazing Project Life line to bring easy, pretty scrapbooking into the 21st century for real-life women.
The colors I used on this page are Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White and Soft Suede. Love the unexpected pop of blue that revitalizes the subduded yellow and brown.
Every page needs texture, textiles, and metal or shine, so I added a little conglomeration of embellishments to draw the eye to the starting point of how it should travel across the page looking at the sequence of the three photos. Without that pop of interest, the eye would be drawn to the middle photo first, then naturally progress to the right (our eyes look in the order that we read, so in most cultures that's left to right). This way, the embellishments make sure the eye begins with the little photo in the filmstrip die-cut frame.
Good scrapbooking has a lot of design principle behind it, that most people won't even notice unless they start deconstructing and analyzing the page. I teach these principles at my Scrapbooking Summer School, 31 Pages in 31 Days, and Scrapbook Marathons. Don't miss the next one! Spring Schedule coming soon!
