Raspberry Tart + Baroque Motifs= yum!

DSCF2204
Here's another card from the fun Stampin' Addicts' blog hop last weekend. It's super easy to make, and I hope you'll try it! Substitute any DSP you like and just draw your cardstock colors from it. Or call me today and I'll throw a pack of Raspberry Tart on my next order for you, with a FREE yard of Rose Red wide double-stitched grosgrain ribbon for you to play around with. In fact, mention this ad when you order ANY pack of DSP and I will throw in a yard of coordinating ribbon for free this week!
So you take a Regal Rose card and cut off the upper right hand corner of the card at a slant. Yes, you could measure this and be all scientific about it, but what fun would that be? The only time I'd worry about that is if you are making a bunch of them and they all need to match. Then you could create a cutting template from scraps so the angles were all identical. But don't stress about it, because stamping is all about relieving stress, not creating it!
Do, however, take less off the corner than you want to, because when you use the Scallop Border punch, or the lovely new Eyelet Border punch as shown here on it next, it will take off another 1/4 inch of cardstock in addition to creating the border. And you can always take more off later, right? So be conservative here.
Next you'll stamp the large flourish from Baroque Motifs (WHAT??? You don't have this set yet? Well, call me right away, honey, and we'll put ya right). in Rose Red classic ink at the same-ish angle as the lacey punching you just did. then sponge the same color of ink around all the edges to soften it up and pull it all together–"cohese" it. I think I just invented that word.
A 1×4.25 inch strip of Rose Red, tied with a knot of Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon, forms a low belly band. Add a corner piece of DSP on the inside of the card where it will show through to the front when closed. I added the Eyelet Border punch on that, too, so the inside is just as pretty as the outside. I mean, why not? I often stamp this Baroque Motifs flourish inside cards–it adds such a classy touch!
The focal point of our card is a 1.75 inch circle with one of the BM medallions centered on it, with a Build A Brad in the center, and popped up with dimensionals. It really grabs your eye and yet the whole card is pleasing because of the mono-chromatic color scheme. This card would look great with any of our Dynamic Duos color combinations. Stay tuned for a listing of all the Dynamic Duos!
