I had so much fun giggling away in my craft room, making all these purple projects! I've got a BUNCH of cute purple cards for your inspiration this weekend to celebrate the return of Purple Posy, our delinquent In Color.
If you missed the commotion, back in May when we Stampin' Up demonstrators got our new Purple Posy ink pads, it became clear that the ink color wasn't "fast"– it stamped one color, dried another, and then faded to yet another. Stampin' Up immediately acted to make sure that inferior ink pads didn't get in customer hands, so we've been waiting while a new "recipe" was formulated and tested.
We learned all kinds of things about the process along the way–including how seriously Stampin' Up takes ink! But the fifth time was a charm, and dried to the correct color even after baking more than twice as long in the simultated "aging" ovens. Yippee!!
So now it's here, and it's gorgeous! A light, clear lavender with no gray in it, that coordinates perfectly with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. Come to momma!
The first thing I wanted to use with Purple Posy was my newest stamp set, Modern Heart. It plays in perfectly with the airy geometrics that are right in style currently. And the sentiments… I would buy this set just for the sentiments!
The internet tells me (so it must be true) that:
- Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red.
- in Bible times, associated with royalty, nobility, luxury and power because it was so expensive to produce.
- today it represents extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, and grandeur.
- darker shades speak of mystery and magic.
- lighter shades are feminine and calming
- makes people happy! (but you knew that)
I LOVE ombre and I LOVE the watercolor-look swoosh stamp in this set. Be prepared to see a bunch more cards from me with this dark-to-light combo. See, this is why you need all three purple ink pads!
This next card uses just Highland Heather and Purple Posy. Purple all OVER the place!
