I can almost taste it! Cold pumpkin pie with a ridiculously big dollop of whipped cream that gives you a white mustache with every bite! Bring on fall, baby!
I love fall for sooo many reasons but one of them is how the world suddenly goes wild for bright orange ball-shaped gourds. It’s like we’ve all lost our collective heads for a minute and we drop everything and sing the praise of the humble pumpkin. It’s a vine we never think about for ten months of the year. Suddenly they’re everywhere and in everything.
Then slowly they begin to disappear and then go away entirely. And the world is drab and colorless again and we have to distract ourselves with Christmas hype and hoopla.
I’m trying to think of what else unites us like that! Pumpkins are amazing.
