Hi guys! Thanks for stopping in today!

Like many of you, I need to keep to a crafting budget and try to get the most bang for my crafting bucks. I am always looking for new ways to use products that seem like they might not be very versatile. I THOUGHT the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for Stampin' Up by Sizzix was one of those tools… but turns out, it's extremely versatile! I set myself a goal to come up with three new ways to use it, and here's the second one! Click here to see the first "out of the box" way I used it.

One quick note before we begin: as with the Bamboo Background technique, I would caution you not to use Chocolate Chip ink for the dark brown, as it tends to turn pink when water hits it, due to the large concentration of red in the formula. So grab Early Espresso ink instead!

You can stop for a chocolate break while you wait for this part to dry. Don't forget to eat a piece for me!

Oooh, time for another chocolate break!! Wait a minute–who ate the last Cadbury Creme Egg??!

Allow the background piece to completely dry before you cut it or adhere it to anything–ask me how I know! The moisture remaining in the paper will negate any adhesive you try to use, so just set it aside for now. Great art takes time : )

Here's my finished card (don't look at my crooked pleats too closely, please). Wouldn't it be just too cute for the basket-lover in your life?

If you need Aqua Painter pens or the Brick Wall folder or anything else I used in the making of this card, please visit my online stamp store so I'll get credit for your purchase. You can also share the tutorial on Pinterest and Facebook. Any purchase, share or word-of-mouth referral helps keeps Song of My Heart ad-free. I hate those pop-ups as much as you do. I appreciate your support!
