Penni & Lyssa’s Not-So-Spooky Crafting Adventure: Day Three monster boxes and more

Halloween 2017-001

Greetings, creepy crafters! Wait, that came out wrong! Welcome to Day Three of Penni & Lyssa's Not-So-Spooky Halloween Adventure. Penni and I are celebrating her birthday holiday (October 31st) with a blog series, and in February we'll do a Valentine one to celebrate mine! We love to stamp together, and I know you'll love what we made for you today.

Monster box

We both jumped at the excuse to play with Stampin' Up's new Mini Pizza Boxes. These great new containers are food-safe and come in packs of ten, perfect for projects! The hold gift cards, cookies, cocoa, 3×3 cards, and of course, candy!!

You can go crazy decorating them inside and out (great way to use up scraps!) or just use one of the easy pre-designed 3×3 squares from the Spooky Night Designer Series Papers and stamp a quick owl and a saying on each. I love how Penni turned one into a Monster Box, complete with sharp teeth! Open…. if you dare!

I had so much fun using up scraps and playing with the new Mini Envelopes for the quick and cute 3×3 card size, it was really hard to quit! I also turned a bunch of the envelopes into uber-fast treat holders. If you don't have time for anything fancy this year, grab some Ghiradelli patties and everyone will still be super impressed with your mad stampin' skills.

We've got a bonus project tutorial for you today–something I came up with late last night that I know you're going to love!

Now, Penni says pencils are a lame gift and people who give them out are just begging to have their house egged. LOL! But many of us have to bring non-candy treats to class (and on behalf of food-allergy moms everywhere, I thank you profusely!). I found orange glittered pencils at the Dollar Tree and planned to make toppers for them. However, this is way better! The toppers just get crushed anyway.

These Scalloped Tag Topper Punch holders met my criteria for both fast and fun. The Cat Punch just took them right over the top! They are very economical, too. Best part? They're simple enough to do WITH kids–just watch for little fingers and those heavy-duty punches. Spooky Cat Bundle

Here's the easy measurements and complete instructions!

Sooo fun! Pin that idea for stocking stuffers, back-to-school, birthday favors, Valentine's and all sorts of other holidays, huh?

Same place, same time tomorrow–see you back here for Day 4. We're headed to the graveyard….fair warning!

  1. I just ordered both the spooky cat bundle and some of the 3×3 envelopes, so I can’t wait to CASE some of your fun ideas. Making little fangs on the box is a really fun idea, and I love the pencil holder too, so quick!

  2. Now those mini pizza boxes are what I want to pass out to trick-or-treaters this year! I love the pencil holders, too, and will make those for Christmas stockings. Thank you for the great ideas, Penni and Lyssa!

  3. Love the pencil holders… really clever! Thank you for the tutorial — these are perfect for school treats since the teacher prefers non-candy items. 🙂
