Hi spooky stampers! Welcome to Day Five and our final post of the 2017 Penni & Lyssa's Not-So-Spooky Halloween Adventure! Yesterday we scared your socks off…. today we focused on the sweet side in a big way!
I have this thing about Peeps… I like about one per season. And they need to be stale. But this year I'm going to try one in my cocoa to replace the marshmallow! I made three kinds of treat packaging, little to big, so there's something here to suit everyone's need for sugar.
The first one is a little envelope made with a 5×5 square of patterned paper, and the smallest size on the Envelope Punch Board. I just holds one Peep ghost and one treat tube. If you make these, you'll need to individually wrap the Peeps. I use Clear Translucent Envelopes for this sort of thing all the time.
In fact, for my middle-sized treat, I used a Clear Envelope to insert two cocoa packets, wrapped in patterned paper, a row of three ghost Peeps, and two test tubes full of M&Ms. Add a belly band, ribbon and a punch focal point, and it doesn't get much easier than that!
If you want a bigger treat, however, the Clear Acetate card boxes once again come to the rescue! A row of three Peep ghosts fit horizontally, with three cocoa packets tucked in below them. There wasn't room for the treat tubes I had originally planned to insert, so I tied one to the top and used the Mad Scientist patterned papers from Spooky Night along with the Spooky Cat matching stamps to decorate the tag.
Oh, we had fun with those Peeps! And I only ate one (possibly because they weren't stale yet and maybe because I had partaken of the M&Ms already). I hope we've sparked some ideas for fun, out-of-the-box Halloween candy.
We just can't get enough of those Treat Tubes… they are seriously fun to play with. I made this flip-top box with Basic Black cardstock to hold a row of 3-5 tubes, depending on how many you want to give. PS–one large box of Nerds filled 9 Treat Tubes, just FYI.
