Hey everybody! Welcome back to Day Four of our week-long bi-annual BFF blog series. Penni makes me do Halloween (her birthday and fave holiday) and I force her to do Valentine's Day (my birthday and fave holiday), and everybody goes home happy. That's what friends are for!
This year we focused on last-minute ideas to help you out when you're trying to pull off a holiday without much advance notice! Today's projects are all about the CANDY!
One of my go-to treat-giving tips is to make use of the Clear Envelopes. It's so easy to just pop some candy in and make a quick topper. I modeled this one on those fun "Reindeer Poop" and "Snowman Soup" ideas. I never seem to have time to make them at Christmas, so why not work them in to other holidays? Leprechaun Food, anyone?
You can never have too many M&M's, as far as I'm concerned, especially since you never know when a chocolate emergency will strike. So for times like those, I made this six-piece Treat Tube gift case from one of our new Clear Acetate Card Boxes. They fit just like they were designed to do so. Very happy these two items carried over from the Holiday Catalog!
Here's the measurements and scoring lines for the sleeve for the acetate cases. You're going to find so many uses for these!
Penni came up with a cute little Message in a Bottle purse made from 3 boxes of conversation hearts. This would be a fast classroom treat that kids could even handle themselves, and clear out your scrap bin of all those long, skinny strips, too!
Can't leave the teacher out of the classroom fun! Penni made a quick card and matching candle from tons of random heart die cuts and punches. PS–since our candle won't be burned, it's ok to leave as-is for this project, but for safety's sake you should have a plain glass holder inside to make sure the hearts don't catch fire if there's any danger of anyone actually lighting it.
Lastly, we received the most adorable Painted With Love treats in the mail from our demo friend Jamie Hurley. So clever! I instantly glommed them for this blog series. They are SO easy to make! And could be adapted for any skinny snack-size candy bar like those new long Oreo ones.
They are a real paper-saver, too, using just one 2 x 6 inch strip of patterned paper each. That means you can get 12 of these Single Treat Tube Holders from one 12×12 sheet! PS–you'll need the 3/4 inch circle punch if you don't already have it–it's the PERFECT size for the Treat Tubes to slide in.
Wow! I feel like this week is just FLYING by, don't you? Tomorrow's already the final day of our Valentine 2018 series. Did we save the best for last?? YOU be the judge! See you back here Friday for the final reveal.
Wow, what a great variety of quick treats! I’m definitely going to save those ideas for other holidays too. LOVE the test tubes acetate box idea, how fun would it be as a little ice cream topping kit?? Thanks so much for all the great ideas, I’m so sad tomorrow is the last day!!
