Paper Pinwheel Wreath project

I knew what I was going to make as soon as I got my hands on this month's Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up! The kit (which isn't always a card kit) for June makes 24 paper pinwheels, and comes with both cellophane treat bags, or striped paper straws, so you could make pinwheel bouqets or treats for summer parties and barbeques. But when I saw it, right away I wanted to make a banner, and then decorate my twig wreath next to the front door.

The pinwheels were super easy to put together because everything was pre-cut and the hole for the center brad was pre-punched. My kind of project!

The banner is cute, but if I had it to do over again, I'd adhere the pinwheels to a large, full-sized pennant. The weight of them caused them to hang their heads, so it was cuter when viewd from a lower level than it was from looking at it above or straight on.

When I was done with the wreath and the banner, I still had six pinwheels left, so I made this bouquet with a Mason jar and some paper shreds. Doesn't it just make you want to have a backyard party?

  1. Such creative, fun uses for those pinwheels! My oldest daughter put the pinwheels together and wants to use them for her youngest sister’s birthday on July 9. I will show her your ideas. My oldest wants her own MPP SOOOOOOOO badly!
