Off to slay dragons with a Myths & Magic card

Mike asked me to create "some sort of card with a knight" for two friends of ours who recently successfully "defended" their PhD dissertations. It's a pretty big deal, and worthy of making a fuss over. They don't just hand out doctorates!

And did I ever have the PERFECT little knight and even a big ol' dragon for him to slay!

I didn't buy the whole Myths & Magic suite (I DO have a shred of willpower left, see???) but I did get the Designer Series Paper from it because I just could not resist those adorable mermaids, unicorns, wizards and knights (patterns below). A few minutes of "fussy cutting" later, and I had a super cute card!

I can't wait to make a knight in shining armor card for Mike himself! But that's still a long ways off. Classes are going well. I shared previously how I was cutting back on my local stamping events in order to free up Mike to study every night, and I'm so thankful it has been working out. God keeps providing both the time and the funds to cover it.

I do really miss my stampin' ladies who aren't able to come to the two events I kept on the schedule, though! I can't say it was an easy lifestyle change, but I'm so proud of my smarty pants handsome hubby and I am really enjoying the evenings with my kids. They're not getting any younger! And I think they honestly need me now more than they did when they were little. So thankful Stampin' Up is as flexible as I need it to be as we head into a totally new time in our lives. Thank YOU for sticking around as I do what I need to do.

Now that I've finally cut into that gorgeous paper, I'm off to make some more cards. I just got the coordinating glimmer paper pack yesterday. Stay tuned for more magical cuteness shortly!
