Just realized today I forgot to show you all my very first creation with the new Color Theory papers from Stampin' Up! I used the Berry Burst papers in the ombre "paint swatch" pattern to make a card similar to one I'd seen at the regional convention back in April.
PS–please ignore the crooked paper! I'm not sure how I missed that when I was making this card, but I sure did!
TIP: One of my favorite basic techniques is called Stamping Off. I stamped some of my flowers full-strength in Berry Burst ink, then stamped them again without reinking the stamp, then stamped a third time. This gave me three different shades of blossoms to match the different shades of gradually lightening color on the paper background.
You are "stamping off the ink" each time resulting in a lighter and lighter image. It's easy and doesn't cost a penny, and you don't have to buy a bunch of super-light colors of ink because you can get lighter tones without them. Try it at home! and play with different colors. Tranquil Tide, stamped off one, is actually my favorite new "In Color" of them all : )
Do this easy technique at home! Here's what you'll need for this card:

Thanks for dropping into to Song of My Heart today! I'd sure love to spoil you with catalogs, cards and freebies if you were of a mind to shop with me. You can do so any time in my Stampin' Up store! Leave me a comment below and let me know if you're going to try the Stampin' Off Technique, too.
This technique will work great in 2 or 3 step stamping. Good advise.
