My Scrapbook Page featured on Stamper’s Showcase

My SS page 5-28-09
What a nice surprise was mine yesterday morning to discover this 6×6 scrapbook page was featured on the Stamper's Showcase. And yes, that is me. Wasn't I skinny then? (laugh!) I just loved that dress. It was exactly what I had always imagined. With those long sleeves, I lucked out that it was a gorgeous June day, sunny but not too hot, not humid at all (and an air-conditioned church, thank goodness). Ah, memories…. that was just about twelve years ago now, hard to believe!
The roses are from my favorite set maybe of all time ever–Fifth Avenue Floral. I stamped them in bleach on Almost Amethyst cardstock, then left it out for an hour to "cure." It turns different colors on different cardstocks. TIPS FOR BLEACH STAMPING: Always make sure you mat your photos when you use bleach in a scrapbook! I also leave my bleached projects out in the air to out-gas before I put them in the page protectors or envelopes just to be safe. Wear old clothes when you do this technique, and make sure you wash the bleach off your stamps after you use them.
Then I used the Eyelet Border punch along the bottom edge and backed it with Basic Gray. That's Basic Gray taffeta ribbon along the top above the Chit Chit rub-on saying. A little polka-dot of Crystal Effects with a shimmer of Dazzlin' Diamonds superfine glitter accents the lacy border–hard to see in this scan.
Hope you've enjoyed my little page as much as I enjoyed the walk down memory lane today! If I look radiant in my wedding photos, it's because I was marrying my best friend. It was a perfect picture of Christ and His bride the Church. I thought I was happy then–little did I know that my joy would increase with every passing year, and the love I felt that day was a drop in the bucket compared to what it would become as we shared life's joys and pains together. I am so blessed, so blessed.
