More from the Vintage Nouveau class

We had such a good time at the first of my Stampin' Styles series, the Vintage Nouveau class. Sometimes you can just tell when a class is going to be GOOD FUN based on the ladies who sign up for it. We had a great group Monday night! And I was thrilled with the way everyone just dove in and tried all kinds of new things they hadn't done before.

It's always interesting to me to hear which project is everyone's favorite. This card was the top favorite, with this pink beauty above being a close second (couple different versions shown here). I particularly like this card because there's almost no way to ruin it. The more you do to it, the better it looks! It's also got a great SNEAK PEEK of some upcoming DSP from the new catalog–get a load of that antique newsprint and book page paper! Perfect!

LOVE the little touches in the Vintage style that you can create with ribbon and some pearls. I devoted a whole paragraph in my handout for the evening just on different ways to use ribbon in a way that makes it seem antique-y. By the way, I've had lots of people asking for the handout, and I am in the process of coming up with a way to make those available. So hang in there and watch for updates on that topic.

This card was not featured in the Vintage Nouveau event, but I made it with a base of Mellow Moss, when I was using up the scraps and putting away the supplies for the class. A little bit of Nouveau Chic DSP (still available although it's retiring, so it's going fast!), a scrap of the new Newsprint DSP, and some elements I printed out using the My Digital Studio software.

You can't tell from the photo, but the heart (from the Always set) is embossed using Glassy Glaze embossing powder. GG is retiring from our catalog as well, and you'll definitely want to grab a bottle for the Stained Glass technique as well as the Antique Crackle Glaze technique. I'll miss this one!

As always, the best way to shop is by clicking on my website, www.lyssa.stampinup.net and going to Shop Now. The Clearance Rack was updated today with all kinds of fun new things from the past, including Le Jardin and Wintergreen DSPs, the Crafter's Tool Kit (a must have!) and lots of fun embellishments and rub-ons. Clearance rack stuff can only be ordered online, so if you haven't jumped that mental hurdle yet, don't wait–it's quick and easy, and the box will be delivered right to your door–no more waiting for your demonstrator to get over pneumonia before she delivers your goodies : )
