Had a bunch of messy fun in the craft room the other night. I needed everyday cards and intended to just create some simple, Brusho crystal spattered notecards. Instead I wound up with layers of stamping over a rainbow watercolor background that just kept wandering over into the mixed-media look. I like it! What do you think? Definitely not my usual style, but it was sure fun to play with.
I liked how each one was totally different. Some had more cobalt blue, others had a lot of gamboge orange. I spritzed, spattered and stamped until I couldn't think of anything else to do. The finishing touch was the netting stamp from Butterfly Basics in Craft Whisper White ink, and a sprinkling of self-adhesive sequins. Fun! I hope the recipients smile when they open the envelopes.
That's what it's all about, right? The smile on your face as you're making it, plus the smile on their face when they open it. Keep stampin' and smilin', friends… we're making the world a better place, one card at a time.
gorgeous
Love the look. I need to try it. Is the sayings from an old stamp set or paper. I couldn’t find it in the catalog?
Hi Renee! It’s actually a current hostess set from the main catalog, Dare to Dream. I love it!!
love the card, just wondering what paper you used with the brusho, I find if I do water color paper it doesn’t stamp the butterfly image solid
thanks
Hi Michelle! In the Class of the Month project files, I discuss paper types. For this card I just used regular Whisper White. I often use Thick Whisper White, too. Almost never use watercolor paper.
