Here's a fun "how'd she do that?" technique you can do with no special equipment! any die shape will work–circle, square, oval–and just about any stamp, too. That is my kind of wow!
Here's a closeup–the little fishie is hand cut and adhered with dimensionals, but the big fish is part of the Very Vanilla circle itself. And it's such an easy trick when you know how! It is very similar to this technique, but done with a die instead of a paper trimmer.
First, stamp your images and sentiment close together. You can trace the size of your die very lightly with a pencil first, then erase after stamping, if you'd like. I usually just wing it.
Then trim out part of the edge of the stamped image you want to hand outside the die-cut. In my case, it was two fins and the side of the fish.. In your case it might be leaves, or part of a flower. Go slowly and remember you can always trim away more later, but you can't really put it back on once it's cut off!
Once you have that little area hand-cut, put the die into place, leaving the hand-cut area on TOP of the die so it won't get cut as it goes through the Big Shot. Nifty!
if you want to try this omitting technique at home, here's what I used. If you need supplies and don't already have a demonstrator, please consider me yours!

I can't wait to play a little more with these fish–the artwork of the stamp set is SO gorgeous, and there's a darling little bonsai tree I haven't even gotten ink on yet. Thanks for popping by to see what 's been going on in my craftroom!
