Mini Photo Tutorial: miniature shamrock punch art card

I had one of those "SQUEE" moments in the stamp room last night! I wanted to make a shamrock (actually a four-leaf clover) to go on my card for my demonstrator team's St. Patrick's day challenge. But it needed to be really tiny… tinier than any heart framelits or heart punch I had.

Or so I thought! Turns out, the Cookie Cutter builder punch (otherwise known as the Gingerbread Man punch) has a miniscule heart on it that can be used to replace buttons. It was the perfect size for the tiniest lil' shamrock you could imagine!

Those puppies are SUPER tiny! Way too small for SNAIL, my go-to adhesive, and even the mini dimensionals were too big. I knew I'd make a mess of it if I tried to use a liquid glue. So I punched out four hearts, and used a tweezers to place them on a mini glue dot, one by one.

Then I used the tweezers to life the whole dot off and place it right where it needed to go on my card. It was actually really easy!

You can make shamrocks/clovers of any size using hear punches or framelits. No special St. Patrick's Day stamp needed–just pick a good saying about friendship, add in a little rainbow with watercoloring, paper strips or washi tape, like I did here, and scatter a shamrock or two. Done and dusted!

  1. Good idea…..I think shamrocks have only three leaves though……I will have to look up my punch and get busy with some St. Pats cards since I so forgot about Valentines.
