May 2011 SOMH Demonstrators group meeting

May 2011 marked the first meeting in our brand new location! We have officially outgrown the homes we have been meeting in. I am so thankful for the new place–it couldn't be any better, unless maybe it came with stamps : )

I am SO BAD about taking pictures in the heat of the moment at these things. I didn't get photos of half of what was shared, including Diane Vander Galien's adorable diaper and Depends cakes (hysterical!), or the samples that Cristy brought to show us from Tina Rappe's amazing stamp camp last month. But here are some I did manage to get at the end! Thanks to Shirley Harmsen for a great demo of the Mother-of-Pearl technique, and also to Lori Brausen for a fantastic talk on how to ask for bookings without seeming pushy.

This was from Jen Maciejewski's Simply Adorned stamp camp. Her ladies ordered their charms and chains and accessories, and then came and made a bunch of inserts for them. Imagine getting to stamp jewelry to go with ANY outfit! Awesome.

Kristin Chowanec and Cristy Butzen contributed great make N Take projects for us to make (thanks, ladies!). Unfortunately I only got a photo of Cristy's, but isn't it cute? The possibilities for this cake are endless–flowers and trim to match the wedding colors, rhinestones instead of pearls, baby or bridal showers… will definitely be CASE'ing this one.

Love the colors on this card–elegant and unexpected all at once. You could use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with the Circles #2 die to make sticking this card together a total breeze! If you are the person who brought this card, leave a comment here, as I have forgotten the owner.

If you are a Stampin' Up demonstrator in my area with no meetings to attend or support group to keep you encouraged, you are welcome to join us. We meet at 6:30 on the second Monday night of the month, and twice a year we do a Saturday morning event. I promise to be better about taking pictures–well, actually, I promise to assign someone to take pictures at future meetings, because I know myself too well to think I will remember anything when I am running around like a chicken with it's head off before/during/after a meeting. Thanks to my SOMH adopted demos and actual downlines, who keep me going with their enthusiasm, and keep me on my toes with their insatiable appetite for new ideas!

  1. I think I am commenting in the right place. The card above with the circles and black bow was one I made. I got the idea from a card I saw in Paper Crafts Magazine. Great card for a wedding!!
