Mason jars for spring and summer cards

I had to get out Jars of Love and play with it one more time before it retires for good! I have gotten so much use out of these lovely stamp set and the current Mason jar mania in home decor and wedding trends. It just fit with all sorts of themes for various showers, luncheons, and gatherings. It had a good run!

I also really liked that you can use all your floral stem-type stamps with the jar, regardless of which set they came in.  That made it even more versatile.

I have a NEW COLOR sneak peek on this card! Did you wonder? You were right! I used the new Rococo Rose ink both full-strength and stamped-off for my flowers. It pairs gorgeously with Blushing Bride and Balmy Blue.

I looked up the word Rococo (to spell it right, for one thing) to make sure I knew what it was and here's what Wikipedia said: "an exceptionally ornamental and theatrical style of decoration" that combines "asymmetry, scrolling curves, gilding, white and pastel colors…" In other words–FANCY!!!  Basically it means every inch of every surface is decorated to the max. It was a way to show wealth (and therefore power) in the time period.

The new live-action Beauty and the Beast castle was done in Rococo style, fun fact!

If you'd like to make this mason jar card at home, here's what I used on mine. Feel free to copy, or change it up and make it your own!

I've got a few more last looks and sneak peeks to share in the next couple of days as we wait for the new catalog to start on June 4th. Be sure not to hold onto your order too long, however, if you wanted something that is retiring. Because it's all while supplies last and many things are sold out already! What will you put in your mason jar? I'm partial to a big wad of peonies, myself. They are all over right now in every Wisconsin farmyard, just about to burst. We're having an odd, wet and cold spring, but you can always count on the peonies!
