We rented a car for the last two days and on Friday morning drove up the Kohala Coast and stopped at every scenic overlook, historical marker, and interesting roadside stand we came across. This stop was particularly fortunate as we discovered a gem in Lapakahi, a 600-year old fishing village that has been fully excavated and partially reconstructed.
