Inside the Lines, Outside the Box

I must confess something to you… I have not appreciated this Sale-A-Bration reward choice like many of you have. I don't really "get" the adult coloring phase, probably because my own personal need for relaxing creative activity is totally fulfilled by my Stampin' Up cardmaking and scrapbooking! But I have tons of friends who really enjoy this everything-old-is-new-again hobby.

So I was happy for you all when I saw these Inside the Lines papers because I know you love coloring sheets, and the patterns were really quite neat.

This weekend I had some time to play, and decided to focus on the Sale-A-Bration reward choices I have not highlighted yet. And I gotta say–it was fun! It helped that I cut the paper up using my (new!!) Large Letters Alphabet Framelits, so the amount I had to color in was limited. The thought of doing a whole 12×12 sheet in this amount of detail just freaked me out.

The other Inside the Lines project I did this weekend was this scrapbook layout for my upcoming 4×4 Scrapbooking class series. Again, we limited the amount of coloring that had to be done by choosing only select areas to color and leaving the rest of layout black and white. Each class member will be able to color more or less of the paper, depending on their personal taste. They'll also be able to spell out different headlines if they choose. The little twine accent pieces are made with the Spirelli technique.

  1. Lyssa,
Love how you tackled that DSP! I scored my pkg early on and then was afraid to tackle it.
Just the other day I got brave and cut one sheet into 4 inch squares. Now must get more brave and actually do something with them.
    I say GOOD JOB!

  3. WOW! WOW! WOW! What a great idea! Although I find coloring relaxing, the 12 x 12 pages had me feeling overwhelmed and because of this, I didn’t order it! Thank you for changing my mind!!!!
