One of my favorite things to do at Founder's Circle is get out into the gorgeous red desert around St. George. Last year's trail ride was so fantastic I booked another one and went with my demo friends Betty, Ann, Sandy, Julie and Angela. It was not too hot, with just the right amount of breeze, and the sky was incredibly blue with huge gorgeous puffy white clouds.
We saddled up around 10:30 a.m. and I was delighted to be assigned to the same gentle mare I had last year, Moriah. The horses were excited to be off! And so were we. Soon even the novices among us were relaxed and enjoying themselves.
I should mention that all these pictures came from my fellow trail riders, as my camera was dead for most of Founder's, unfortunately! I appreciate them sharing.
The first little bit was flat and full of sagebrush, but we soon began to climb noticably and it got cooler as we entered the trees. Look at the color of that sky!
Matthew of Snow Canyon Trail Rides was our guide once more, and I was impressed again with how personable and knowlegeable he is. I'd recommend this outfit to anyone. We will definitely be going again next year–if I'm lucky enough to earn Founder's Circle again!
I brought up the rear since I'd been on this trail before. It was a little dusty. Next time, someone remind me to bring a bandana, ok? Cough!
Bye, horsies! See you next year!
I spy my van in the picture of just you on Moriah. 😀 Haha! It looks like it was absolutely delightful. <3
