Oh dear–what goop is on my wall there by the candle holder and how did it get there? I never notice my walls until I go to take a picture of a home decor item to share with you! We made this banner in Big Shot club at the tail end of February and the ladies really liked it, so I got mine hung and took a photo for you.
This easy banner goes together quickly and makes a great gift, too. You can spell out any four or five letter word you like–Love, lucky, sweet, baby–and of course change out the colors to match your decor. You really need the widest Striped Grosgrain or Double-Stitched Grosgrain ribbon to do this banner–if you use thinner ribbon, the visual effect is not good. The ribbon needs to have some strength to it to carry off the look. The Scallop Square die is topped by Very Vanilla squares run through the Petals A Plenty folder.
We also made our own brads for this banner by stamping a little flower in Chocolate Chip and then punching it out with the half-inch circle punch–which by fortuitous alignment of the planets, fits right in the Build A Brads. Ok, just kidding about the planets. Some genius designer at SU came up with that.
I'll be eternally grateful for this little banner and the name magnets I've featured here before, because during Sale A Bration five of my customers have cheerfully presented themselves with the Serif Essentials Alphabet dies for the Big Shot. I'm excited for you to enjoy the benefits of having an alphabet which cuts through darn near everything–not just cardstock and DSP but wallpaper, chipboard, acetate, vinyl, leather, wood, fleece–you name it! Beautiful banner, Lyssa.
Like your scrapbook layout, too. You are one very talented lady! 🙂
Love the banner!
