Hexagon Punch Star Fold Card

I've mentioned several times how much I love the Eastern Elegance patterned papers. My scrap boxes are a testament to that! I recently was able to make 20 notecards using just scraps of this paper. Here's three of the designs I came up with, happily playing away this weekend when I should have been doing laundry! IMG_2338

The first is what I've decided to call the "star fold" technique. Similar to the dahlia fold, only instead of done with the usual circles, I used the hexagon punch–and it formed the coolest star in the center!  This is a super easy technique. Just fold in two edges of the hexagon punch, and then arrange six of them in a circle with the pointy tips to the center. Add a pearl or Candy Dot and you're done!

Can you IMAGINE THIS TECHNIQUE with Christmas papers? Too cute!! I have to try it.

Here's another Whisper White Notecard I made with hexagon punches. It was SO easy! The stamp set I used for these is Sketched Birthday.

I had enough scraps that I was able to make 12 of these beautiful irregular sunburst cards. You can view a complete and easy tutorial on my irregular sunburst technique here.

Did you get to play this weekend? I "have" to play a lot in the next two weeks–craft fair season is upon us! If you're local to me, hope to see you at my first fair at Maranatha College on November 9th.

  1. Can you believe my package of EE has hardly been touched? I think it’s one of those “I love this so much I’m saving it for something special” type issues. I really thought I didn’t do that any more! These cards are AWESOME!!
