My second Christmas card of the year uses the Focus on Squares layout from Cheat Sheets Collection #13 and the Hearts Come Home stamp set. I love the little houses and trees and the endless combinations you can make with them! And it's always fun to work with a very traditional holiday color scheme of Real Red, Garden Green and Night of Navy.
One tip if you attempt this card–punch or cut your squares first, before stamping. I know that seems backwards, but the squares are quite small and if you stamp first, chances are your little scene won't fit in the punch.
The sentiment (which fits so perfectly) is from a brand new punch box gift set in the Holiday 2018 Catalog–Christmas Traditions. It's got six exclusive stamps and a coordinating punch, two ink spots and a clear block all together in a generously-sized tin. It's actually perfect to just toss in some cut card bases, some adhesive and a pair of scissors and GO! Taking your Christmas cards on the run with you is a great way to get a bunch done in small snippets of time you have on your lunch break, at the kids' practices, or even just on a television tray in the living room.
The tin itself is so pretty, it would make a great piece on the coffee table to collect incoming holiday cards, too–and store them, mouse-proof, out of season. I love this tin and I'm going to use it for gifts this year by slipping a set of precut tags and some twine inside before I tie a bow around it. Gift-giving has never been so easy!
I can't wait to show you my third Christmas design of the year!!! Thanks for stopping in to see what I'm up to in the craft room. I've actually been organizing like a freak (thanks to the mouse that made a nest in my stamp room closet) and it looks awesome in there. I've got a little more work to do, but I'll be sure to post pictures!
A good idea for using this set.
Cute little Christmas card!
