I need a little cheerful color in my life right now, sitting in the Winter Wonderland that is Wisconsin full of blowing snow this week–so this card hits the spot! Pairing Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise with crisp white and black, this birthday card has a secret inside….
it's a hidden gift card holder! You can actually turn ANY regular card into a gift card holder by cutting a mat to fit inside, and notching out a circular or oval gap. Put a good strong adhesive like Sticky Strip or mini glue dots around the edges of the mat so the card can't fall out the bottom or side. I used the Wide Oval punch to make my notch on this card, and the What's Up arrow punch to point to the opening.

The gift card holder is just too cute! And here’s a little cheerfulness for your day. I live in northern Maine less than an hour from the Canadian border. Our wind chills this week have been minus 30 one morning, and minus 24 another. We’d also had cloudy weather for almost two weeks, but saw the sun during these very cold days thank goodness. So, in perspective, you can always remember that some places are much worse than ours (think Paris this week) and delight that we have a wonderful hobby that allows us to play and create inside where it’s warm.
