Fiji me!

Bula! We're back in the States after our amazing Fijian adventure with Stampin' Up. We had the MOST incredible trip of a lifetime. Everything was just as we hoped or even better than we'd dared imagine. We are dealing with some significant jet lag so I will keep it short today, but wanted to share some pictures from our first day in Fiji, last Monday (would have been Sunday for you guys; we crossed the International Date line as well as the equator).

I am only sharing this photo with you, my closest friends… this is what we looked like after about 30 hours of travel. And now you can see my new glasses, too. My hair, unfortunately, got no better the whole time we were there–the humidity was something else! And it was very breezy by the ocean. We demos all just agreed to laugh it off and have a good time even though we were sunburnt, peeling puffballs most of the time!

We had a very lovely & cool room right on the ground floor on the end of one of the Sofitel's wings that extend out towards the ocean. We could literally walk out the sliding door and be on the sand in about 50 feet. Perfect for the spectacular sunrises and sunsets!

First up on the agenda when we arrived, though, was breakfast, since our plane got in at 5:00 a.m. We found our way to the Lagoon restaurant and discovered a delightful thatched "bure" up on stilts over the lagoon. We ended up eating breakfast out there with the cheeky myna birds every morning except one. You could look down on the most gorgeous lily pads and see froggies and fish.

In fact, as Mike and I thought back over this blissful week, we realized we only ate indoors once! Everything was wide-open to the breezes… and the occasional shower. It rained a couple of times on the first two days, but in between showers, the tropical sun would come out and bake everything dry under a blue sky you would never believe if you saw it in a painting.

The best part of the week for me was spending the whole thing with Mike. I am so thankful he was able to come with me. I was so proud that I had been able to give him this once-in-a-lifetime experience. All because of Stampin' Up and YOU, my darling customer friends! Thank you so much! More to come!
