Father’s Day Ideas–comin’ right up!

I am just loving the new To The Nines specialty textured double-sided paper that is on sale in May. I enjoy making masculine cards and this easy shirt and tie card is always a hit. The heavier DSP is perfect for this card as it adds dimension and texture to the plain Very Vanilla cardfront. You can see both sides of the one sheet in this photo–Chocolate Chip paisleys on one and a Sage Shadow geometric houndstooth on the other. A Chocolate Chip jumbo brad made the perfect tie tack!
Here is a version of this card that was on the Stamper's Showcase in February 2009 and here is my original post with instructions. This project is perfect for using up smaller scraps of DSP, and it is also a very economical project because the card is made from neutral cardstock, cheaper than a colored cardstock base. Add a little gift card holder inside with the Slit Punch, and you'd have a unqiue and fun way to thank Dad on his special day.

I just got my first Chocolate Chip Craft ink pad this week and I am really enjoying the rich, gorgeous saturation of color that Craft ink gives. Here's another guy card I made for my Friday Night club using that great To The Nines textured paper. I just did this ribbon share last month so I have all this yummy taffeta ribbon to play with–and yes, it does work on a masculine card! We enjoyed using Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware frames on our sentiment and the classy look they add. Another twist on an old favorite set, Lovely As A Tree.
Now, the only question is, which one of these do I send to my dad?
